Blackjack Card Counting - Made Easy
Blackjack is one of the few games where you can get an edge over
the casino. How? By learning to card count you can then play with
the odds in your favor longer term and iple up long term profits.
Card counting can be easy and quick to learn and gives you an
edge to win so lets look at how blackjack card counting
works.
Before you learn to card count, you will need to be very familiar
with basic blackjack strategy this tells you the action for any
hand you are dealt, is easy to learn and is soon committed to
memory. Until then pre printed cards are available free on the
net.
Now its onto card counting, there are misconceptions so
lets get them out of the way first. Card counting does work,
but people believe in two myths that are just that, not true.
1. Card counters will memorize every card they have seen dealt
out of a deck or shoe, and card counting needs to be complicated.
These are both wrong assumptions.
Card counters will memorize very little if at all.
Instead they look for signals and signs that depend on how rich
the deck is in high cards to come out which we will explain in
a minute.
Simple card counting systems can be very effective. Remember
that is the logic the system is based upon, and not its complexity
that makes a system successful.
2. Card counting lets a player know what card will be dealt out
the deck next. This is very wrong!
All Card counting is just giving the counter a probability and
not a prediction. Here are some important facts about Blackjack
Card counting.
1. Why it works.
Blackjack card counting works because players who use a correct
blackjack strategy with a card counting system can beat the casinos
odds advantage by between 2 4%.
The reasons for this are simple.
The low cards will favor the dealer in blackjack, while the high
cards will favor the player.
The low cards favors the dealer as they help him to make winning
totals on his hands when he is stiff, (stiff means that he has
a 12, 13, 14, 15, or 16 total on his first two cards). The opposite
is true for the player.
2. Card Counting gives you the Odds Advantage over the dealer.
As a player, in casino blackjack, you can stand on your stiffs
if you want to, but the dealer cant. The dealer has no choices
to make and must follow the strict rules. Here is your odds advantage.
The rules of blackjack require the dealer to hit his stiffs.
If the deck is no rich in high cards, the dealer will bust.
So, your ability to choose over the dealers inability gives
you a real odds advantage.
3. Card Counting and the Odds of Hitting a Blackjack
High cards will favor the player because they often bust the
dealer when he hits his stiffs, and because the 10s and Aces create
blackjacks.
Statistically, the odds of getting a blackjack are rather equal
for the player and the dealer, but the player is paid more (3:2)
when he gets a blackjack.
4. Card Counting is Selective
When card counting, you dont have to count each individual
card value in order to know when you have an edge over the casino.
You really only need to know if the deck is rich or poor in high
cards i.e those cards that are favorable to the player.
5. Card Counting When to Act on what you know.
Effective card counting reveals when you have an advantage.
In order to take advantage of that you must know what to do,
obviously if you are in the advantage your bet higher, and if
you are not, you bet at minimum.
6. Find a blackjack card counting system that works for you.
Some systems are easy to learn and just as effective as more
complicated ones.
You must search out various systems and see which is right for
you. The one you pick up naturally may be the best.
Keep in mind a simple card counting sytem executued without errors
is far better than a complicated one with errors.
When you get the right one you will see your blackjack game and
winning improve immediately!
