Human Rights

"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly"

Martin Luther King (JR)

It has been over 50 years since the United Nations (UN) Universal Declaration of Human Rights was signed by the majority of governments worldwide, but abuse of human rights continues to grow worldwide.

Freedom of Speech and Human Rights are taken for granted most in the west, but recent years have seen human rights abuses around the world increase generally and hundreds of governments are responsible.

In 1997 for example, Human Rights conditions were reported to remain unchanged compared to previous years and in many countries conditions had actually deteriorated, and torture, detention and murder had increased.

As we are now in the new millenium many people are frustrated that billions of people worldwide are denied basic human rights. In many countries people live in fear daily of torture, abuse and death.

Here we will outline abuses of human rights and what you can actually do to help. Remember, YOU can make a difference and the more of us that do, the more pressure can be applied to regiemes who saction abuse, torture and killing.
